PURPOSE:To develop a hot repairing material having excellent characteristics as a material for reparing the melt-damaged portion of an industrial furnace by mixing a basic aggregate, a solid pitch, sulfur powder and, if necessary, a wetting agent in a specific ratio and granulating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:60-90wt.% of a granular aggregate comprising a basic refractory such as magnesia clinker or dolomite clinker, 10-40wt.% of a solid pitch powder, 0.05-1.5wt.% of powdery sulfur and, if necessary, 5-15wt.% of a lubricating agent comprising at least one kind of polyhydric alcohols such as liquid phenolic resis and ethylene glycol, kerosene, heavy oil, anthracene oil and water and mixed and subsequently granulated into granules having granule sizes of 10-80mm to provide a hot repairing material used for hot-repairing when the lined refractories of a converter, AOD furnace, electric furnace, ladle, etc., are partially damaged. The hot repairing material is packed in bag, charged into a damaged portion of the furnace and subsequently baked, thereby permitting to extremely simply repair the damaged portion in a short time. |
