Towing cable for linear seismic prospecting antenna - with elastic core and sheath deforming until point where it stiffens under traction

A shock absorbing towing cable has an elastic core, and a sheath deforming mechanically until it stretches to a point where it stiffens and protects the core against plastic deformation. The sheath is pref. diagonally woven around the core after stiff fibres. The core pref. has strands of fibres wound helically in opposite directions. There are pref. an intermediate sheath and an assembly of conductive cables between the core and the sheath. USE/ADVANTAGE - For towing linear acoustic antennae for seismic prospecting. The cable will not break.
