PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having increased sensitivity in an infrared region by incorporating specified compds. into an emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:When a silver halide emulsion layer optically sensitized with a sensitizing dye having max. spectral sensitivity in a wavelength region of >=700nm is formed to obtain a sensitive material, at least one kind of compd. represented by formula I and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula II are incorporated into the emulsion layer. In the formula I, each of R1 and R2 is H atom, alkyl group, etc., and the total number of C atoms in R1 and R2 is >=3. In the formula II, R3 is >=3C alkyl or aryl group. The sensitivity of the sensitizing dye having max. spectral sensitivity in an infrared region of >=700nm, especially >=750nm can be increased by combination with the specified mercapto compds., fog can be reduced and a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and suitable for semiconductor laser is obtd. |
