The reactor core of the plant has tubular and vertically movable control rods (3) moved by a flow of coolant under pressure. Each control rod (3) surrounds a similarly tubular guide rod (6), stationary relative to the reactor core, leaving an annular slot-like space (7) therebetween. The inside of each guide rod (6) forms a first pressure chamber (101) supplied with the coolant under pressure. The upper end of each control rod (3) is closed and has a vertical shaft (8) that extends into the inside of the guide rod (6) and forms therewith a second annular slot-like space (9). At least one first restriction (7') is provided in the first annular slot-like space (7) and at least one second restriction (9') is provided in the second annular slot-like space (9). A second pressure chamber (102) is formed between both restrictions (7', 9'). The coolant supplied to the guide rod (6) thus returns to the pressure vessel (1) surrounding the reactor core through the second annular slot-like space (9), the second pressure chamber (102) and the first annular slot-like space (7). Controlling means (25) are provided, with which pressure thrusts can be generated if necessary in the coolant within the first pressure chamber (101). |
