PURPOSE:To improve the picture distortion attended with the reduction of high voltage caused by a beam current by providing a first and a second ABL circuits and switching the threshold level of the second ABL circuit more than two stages according to an input mode. CONSTITUTION:A titled receiver provides the first ABL(automatic brightness limit) circuit 20 which detects the mean value of the beam current from one end of the high voltage winding of a flyback transformer 1 and the second ABL circuit 10 which detects a peak value and the threshold level of the second ABL circuit 10 be switched more than two stages according to the input mode. When the external RGB signal of a character multiplex decoder and a personal computer, etc., is inputted, the actuating point of the ABL circuit is made to be in a direction in which the beam current is suppressed more quickly than other modes. The picture distortion attended with the reduction of the high voltage by the beam current can be improved.
