PURPOSE:To determine presence of the occult blood in feces by applying an oxidizing agent coloring liquid to occult blood-detecting test paper and observing the coloring condition appearing in the part where the feces and the test paper contact. CONSTITUTION:The occult blood-detecting test paper 1 which is constituted of paper having low moisture strength and contains a peroxidase activity indicator reagent is put on the collected feces so that the feces are brought into contact with a feces contact region 2. The oxidizing agent coloring liquid is then applied on the occult blood-detecting test paper and the coloring condition appearing in the part 2 where the feces and the paper 1 contact each other is observed, by which the presence of the occult blood in the feces is determined. A positive monitor 4 and a negative monitor 5 may be provided to a contrast region 3 of the paper 1.
