PURPOSE:To improve riding sensation during running on an adverse road and to improve maneuvering stability during running on a flat road, by a method wherein a displacement between the upper and the lower of the spring of a buffer is detected, the magnitude of a generating damping force is controlled according to the intensity of displacement frequency. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic damping valve 70 is located in a flow passage through which working oil flows along with expansion and compression action of a buffer,and a generating damping force is changed with a feed current to the electromagnetic damping valve 70. In this device, displacement between the upper and the lower part of the buffer is detected by a means 71. From an output from the means 71, displacement frequency is decided by a means 72. An exciting current to the electromagnetic damping valve 70 is controlled by a means 73 so that, when displacement frequency is low, a damping force is increased, and when the displacement frequency is high, the damping force is decreased. Thus, since frequency of a vibration input from the under side of the spring is increased during running on, for example, an adverse road, lowering of a damping force causes improvement of vibration absorption characteristics to ensure riding sensation. |
