The invention relates to novel 4-alkylideneimino-6-t-butyl-3-methylthio-1,2,4-triazin-5-ones of the general formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R<1> represents alkyl and R<2> represents alkyl having two or more carbon atoms, alkoxyalkyl or alkylthioalkyl, but where R<2> does not represent ethyl if R<1> simultaneously represents methyl, to a process for their preparation starting from the corresponding 4-amino compound, and to their use as herbicides.
