<p>Insulin derivatives having a charge which is positive compared with the charge of human insulin at neutral pH, can be used to prepare solutions having prolonged insulin action. In the novel insulin derivatives, a basic amino acid has been substituted in the B27-position and/or a neutral amino acid has been inserted in the A4-, A17-, B13- and/or B21-position. Furthermore, the C-terminal carboxyl group of the B-chain has been blocked with an amido or ester residue.</p> |
