Load-carrying body for a road transport vehicle, having an intermediate floor which is arranged, or can be arranged, in an intermediate position between the floor and the ceiling of the body in order to form a second loading surface arranged above the floor, characterised in that a platform (20) is mounted in a vertical direction inside the load-carrying body (2) and can be moved under load by means of a drive device into a position in which it is flush with the intermediate floor (12) and into a position in which it is lowered as far as the floor (4), and in that the length of the platform (measured in the longitudinal direction of the body) is substantially shorter than half the length of the body. A relatively lightweight body is produced which, for loading and unloading on a ramp, does not require any lifting vehicles. <IMAGE>
