<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a dehumidifier capable of being regenerated with low regeneration energy by depositing a hygroscopic inorg. electrolyte capable of contg. water of crystallization on a nonconducting carrier. CONSTITUTION:A nonconducting carrier of silica gel, etc. is immersed in an aq. soln. of the hygroscopic material of a hygroscopic inorg. electrolyte such as MgCl2 and CaCl2 capable of contg. water of crystallization, and then dried. The dehumidifier thus prepared is brought into contact with the atmosphere to adsorb the water in the atmosphere. The dehumidifier saturated with water is arranged in the space between electrode 4, and regenerating air 1 is supplied while impressing an AC high voltage between both electrodes 4. The water of crystallization contained in a dehumidifying material 2 is converted into free water by electric conduction, and the free water is entrained by the regenerating air and discharged to the outside of the system. Since an increase in the temp. of the dehumidifier during regeneration is small, dehumidification can be immediately carried out without cooling the dehumidifier after regeneration.</p> |
