<p>A racquet comprises a generally oval frame made from extruded aluminium, and a handle secured to the frame by means of a T-shaped joining member. The frame has a groove around the greater part of its internal periphery, and a wire string-securing member, bent to form a plurality of loop portions is mounted in the groove, with the loop portions projecting radially inwardly of the frame to receive and position respective strings of the racquet. The string-securing member is held in the groove either by increasing its width between the loop portions, or by crimping the portions of the mouth of the groove between the loop portions, or by an apertured plate held in the groove. The T-shaped member has an integrally formed loop for receiving a respective string. <IMAGE></p> |
