摘要 PURPOSE:To enable effective regeneration by a small amount of a regenerating agent, by attaining to optimize the concn. of the regenerating agent in consideration of the reactive characteristics and ion exchange selectivity of a desalting capacity reduced ion exchange substance and the regenerating agent. CONSTITUTION:In a method for performing regeneration by passing a regenerating liquid through a desalting capacity reduced ion exchange substance, the concn. of the regenerating agent in the regenerating liquid is changed over a part or the entire section of a regenerating liquid passing time with the elapse of the regenerating liquid passing time. For example, in regenerating a Na-type ion exchange resin reduced in desalting capacity with H2SO4, the concn. of the regenerating agent is made high at the initial stage in the passage of the regenerating agent when the Na<+>-amount of the resin phase is much while the concn. of the regenerating agent is reduced at the terminal period of the passage when the Na<+>-amount of the resin phase is reduced. Because the excessive passage of the regenerating agent is avoided, regeneration at a low level as compared with a conventional method is enabled.
