PURPOSE:To obtain a damper which provide a large damping force with a lighter weight of a mobile section while facilitating the adjustment of the damping force by utilizing a magnetic particle and an electromagnetic magnet in a powder damper for damping vibration installed to a suspension arm of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A powder damper 1 is provided with an impeller 3 having a disc 4 fixed on a rotary shaft 2 roughly perpendicular to an arm 11 at the side end of a body of a suspension arm 11. The impeller 3 is made up of concentric blades 5a-5g mounted on the circumference of the disc 4, fitted into the rotary shaft 2 through a bearing 6a and a part of the circumference is covered with a case 6 fixed on a body. A magnetic pole 7a is provided at the position of sandwitching both surfaces of the impellers 5a and 5g in the lower inside of the case 6 and a plurality of circular magnets 7 wound with a coil 7b are mounted respectively while magnetic particles 9 are interposed in the clearance 8 between the impellers 5a-5g and the magnetic pole 7a. |
