PURPOSE:The titled cosmetic, prepared by dissolving a fatty acid ester of ascorbic acid transparently in an esterification product of a polyether polyol obtained by adding an alkylene oxide to a polyol with a higher fatty acid, and having improved stability. CONSTITUTION:An oily beautifying and whitening cosmetic obtained by dissolving (A) a fatty acid ester of ascorbic acid, e.g. monostearate, transparently in (B) an esterification product of a polyether polyol obtained by adding an alkylene oxide to a polyol, e.g. polyethylene glycol, with a >=8C higher fatty acid, e.g. isooctylic acid. The resultant cosmetic is capable of acting rapidly on and permeating through the skin in use without causing clouding, gelation nor deterioration in the beautifying and whitening effects even on storage for a long term, and giving improved beautifying and whitening effects and good touch to the skin. The amount of the component (A) to be incorporated is 0.1-5wt%. If a liquid oily base material, e.g. olive oil, is incorporated in the cosmetic, the amount of the component (A) is 0.1-3wt%. |
