Apparatus for disbursing bank notes (A) includes a plurality of stackers (1) each charged with a stack of notes of a respective denomination. The stackers (1) are spaced at regular intervals s. Each stacker (1) has means (2,4) for forwarding notes to a conveyor (7) which transfers them to a wheel (6) having a plurality of radial vanes (6a) between which the notes are received as the wheel (6) rotates. The notes are then stacked in a tray (9). The synchronous operation of the conveyors (4,7) and the wheel (6) is such that the transfer interval between the last note from one stacker and the first note from the next stacker is given by ( l + s), where s=K/n, l being the transfer interval between notes from said one stacker which are delivered to every nth space between adjacent vanes (6a) of the wheel (6), and K is a constant. <IMAGE> |
