<p>Positive lens surfaces 25 on one side of a lens plate 22 converge light rays towards respective light-transmitting interstices 23 in an otherwise opaque or light-absorbing baffle 24 disposed on the opposite side of the plate 22. This arrangement serves to reduce the visibility of the internal components of the lamp when viewed from the front, and at the same time minimises the occurrence of "ghost" signals produced by externally incident light. In order to reduce the spread of the light rays emerging from the opposite side of the baffle 24, each interstice 23 is associated with a formation 26 on the lens plate 22 which is specifically designed as a negative lens surface.</p> |
