PURPOSE:To make it possible to predict the temperature of a road surface highly accurately, by using the amounts of the past thermal radiation inputs and outputs obtained by the thermal radiation input and output meter provided over a thermometer as a predicting factor and computing the estimated value of the temperature at the future time required hours later. CONSTITUTION:The road surface thermometer 1 such as a radiation thermometer is fixed to a supporting post 4. The thermal radiation input and output meter 2, which measures the difference between the radiated energy from upper atmosphere and the radiated energy from the lower road surface L, is provided over said thermometer 1. Sampling, memory, and the like of the values measured by the thermometer 1 and the input and output meter 2 at every timer operation are performed by a CPU. A constant in a temperature prediction computing expression, which is to become the predicting factor is determined based on the past values measured by the thermal radiation input and output meter 2, and the temperature at the future time required hours later is estimated by the computation. By the system using the past amounts of the radiation inputs and outputs which are to become a preceding index of the temperature change, the temperature prediction of the road surface can be performed highly accurately. |
