A combustion control system for a furnace or oven which uses a fan to supply combustion air to the burner, and where the fuel supply is regulated in accordance with the size of the contents of the furnace, uses an infinity variable control of the speed of the fan drive to control the amount of air to the burner. The oxygen or carbon dioxide content of the combustion gases is continuously measured and the results used to control the fan speed, or the quantity of fuel supplied is continuously measured and used to control the fan speed. Alternatively both these continuous measurements are used to control the fan speed. the speed is then continuously controlled. |
