PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and to shorten the waiting time of image formation by selectively supplying power to a heating means of an image carrier at the time of power-on based on of a temperature detection value. CONSTITUTION:Two heaters 16a and 16b are provided to a photosensitive drum 4, and two heaters 20 and 21 are provided to a roller 18 of a fixing device 13. A temperature sensor 25 is provided near the photosensitive drum 4. At the time of power-on, power is selectively supplied to heaters 16a, 16b, 20, and 21 in accordance with a humidity detection value. If the humidity is higher than a prescribed value, power is supplied to heaters 16a and 16b of the photosensitive drum 4 and the heater 20 of the fixing device 13 to quickly raise the temperature to a prescribed value, and blur and flow of the image due to high humidity are prevented. If the humidity is lower than the prescribed value, power is supplied to the heater 16a of the drum 4 and heaters 20 and 21 of the fixing device 13 to quickly raise the temperature of the fixing device 13 to the prescribed value. Since the humidity is detected to selectively supply power to heaters, the power consumption is reduced and the waiting time from power-on to image forming is shortened. |
