A device for the inductive heating of steel blanks in a magnetic field of a coil and having a relatively high heating temperature with a low energy consumption and avoidance of distortion of the blanks during the heating, in the case of which the steel blanks (7) are stacked on a lifting device (11, 12), the stacked steel blanks (7) are moved upwards by this lifting device through the coil (1), the steel blanks are held by means of an extraction device (10) after leaving the coil (1), and a contact-pressure device (13) which absorbs the weight of the stack of blanks is arranged underneath the coil (1).
