PURPOSE:To eliminate the projecting-out of a foamable wedge mounted in the opened part of a semiclosed slot from the opened part when the wedge is heated and foamed by foaming and hardening the surface of the wedge by a laser beam and then heating the entirety when the wedgeis heated. CONSTITUTION:After a coil 4 is wound in a semiclosed slot 2 of a core 1, a foamable wedge 5 is inserted into the opened part of the slot. A laser beam 8 is first emitted from the bore side of the core to the surface of the wedge to foam and harden only the surface of the wedge. Thereafter, every core 1 is introduced into a heating furnace to heat the entire wedge, thereby foaming and heating the wedge. In this manner, the wedge 5 may not be projected out toward the bore of the iron core even if special jig is not disposed at the bore side of the core 1 when the wedge is heated and foamed, thereby simplifying the work. |
