If in felt form the material may be shaped into a bag. The refractory material may be in a perforated box-like housing put into the conduit carrying the dusty air, and in such case the housing may extend laterally on both sides of the conduit, with open ends so that filter material can be pushed into it and discharged from the other end when fully laden with dust. Used for exhaust gases from metallurgical reactors, coal gasifiers etc. No heat exchangers are needed,nor need cooler air be added, which would increase the filtration plant size . |
