<p>PURPOSE:To prevent recording and reproduction errors and a deficiency in the number of data blocks by detecting the tape run distance from the run stop indication of a magnetic tape to its stop and by sending an abnormality detection signal when the detected distance exceeds a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:At time T0, the stop indication is given to capstan motor 1 and when it stops at time T1' lagging behind normal stop time T1, the count value of counter 4 is larger than that in normal operation. Once this count value exceeds the prescribed range, a signal of ''1'' is sent to signal line S2. Since ''1'' is outputted from capstan motor control circuit 3 to signal line S1, the output of AND 5 is ''1'' and latch circuit 6 is set, so that abnormality signal 1 is outputted to signal line S8. By this abnormality signal, the reproduction of the device is interrupted and an alarm is sent to the operator.</p> |
