FIELD: ocean engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ocean engineering and can be used for continuous prolonged wide-band monitoring of the environment near the sea bottom. Self-contained underwater system for environmental monitoring contains a multifunctional underwater station equipped with onboard measuring means. Self-contained modular underwater vehicle can move along the assigned route and can be connected to an external measurement module. Loading area of the underwater station is configured to receive the said vehicle. Interface system is configured to communicate with the vehicle.
