The swarf resulting from mfg. process is washed from holes and channels in vehicle brake parts by high pressure cleaning. Presence of remaining swarf in electrically conducting material is detected by probes which sense presence of a current. A channel (16) for an annular seal in a hole (12) of brake master cylinder (10) contains piece of swarf (52). A detector (18) contains electrical circuit (22) comprising current amplifier (50) connected to probes (40, 42) with return connection from battery (46) connected via longer probe (38) to master cylinder b ody. Presence of swarf is indicated by lamp (48) when contact is made via sensing probe. |
