It is an object to provide an optical communication device in which the reduction of the light intensity per unit area that a receiving module receives is suppressed, so as to improve communication performances. A transmitting module (10) sends transmitting light modulated in accordance with communication subject information. A receiving module (20) is movable relatively to the transmitting module (10) and receives the transmitting light that is incident on a receiving surface. Here, the transmitting module (10) is provided with a light source (11) for emitting the transmitting light and a light limiting unit for limiting the transmitting light from the light source to a distribution scope corresponding to a moving scope of the receiving module.
