The electro-machine unit comprises an exciter and a turbo-generator. The rotor shaft of the latter is coupled with the rotor shaft of the exciter by means of a flange coupling. The rotor shaft of the turbo-generator has a central axial boring for the positioning of the current leads coupling the rotor winding of the generator with the slip-rings. The slip-rings (8) on the rotor shaft (3) of the exciter (1) are installed on the side opposite the generator (2). Only a section (13) of the current lead is positioned in the central axial boring (11) of the rotor shaft (5) of the turbo-generator (2). The other section is accommodated in the central axial boring (12) of the rotor shaft (3) of the exciter (1).
