Container for transport and storage of material which has to be maintained in a sterilised condition includes an opening in its top part enclosed tightly by a cover. The cover of the opening is fitted with an aerating valve (15) which is connectable to an air filter (16). The air filter (16) is rigidly attached to the aerating valve (15). Also attached to the cover is a discharging pipe (10) which projects to the container bottom and has its outer end tightly enclosable by a cap. In addition to the aerating valve the cover is provided with a pressure limiting safety valve. the container is also fitted with a protective cap which is over the cover and the armatures attached to the cover. Useful in packing lines for processed foods, pharmaceuticals etc.
