1410348 Filter aid THEODOR CHRIST AG 6 Dec 1972 [6 Dec 1971] 56345/72 Heading B1D A filter screen is covered with a layer of mixed anion and cation ion exchange resins on top of which is applied a layer of polyacrylonitrile fibres, both layers being applied as filter aids and the fibres being upstream of the resins in use and protecting them from colloidal matter which would impair their functioning. Particle sizes and layer densities are exemplified. The fibre layer may be applied using a slurry tank and pump, as are the resins, or by adding the fibres to the first liquid to be filtered. The liquid may be condenser water in nuclear steam-generating plant. |
