Support pillar for offshore platform - assembled from ferro concrete pipes resting on ball joint of foundation on sea floor

A foundation, resembling a caisson, rests on the sea floor in a depth of 120-250m and carries on a ball joint a pillar for a platform above water level. The pillar consists of several coupled prefabricated tubes, pref. made of prestressed reinforced concrete of 7-10m outside diameter. They accommodate an oil riser and inspection ladders. Used for pumping stations, mooring of tankers for oil transfer, and as helicopter landing pad. This pillar and platform are not expensive to mfr. Once floated on site and erected, it protects the oil riser, facilitates inspection and repair and has flexibility in presence of swell and waves.
