The electrical characteristics of the tube G and the resistor V are so chosen that the resistor V responds to protect the apparatus A against overvoltages having a low energy content whereas the tube A gives protection against overvoltages with a high energy content. The tube G and resistor V are mounted between two metal strips M 1 , M 2 and may have an insulating device S therebetween so that the assembly forms a plug-in device switch for use in telephone equipment. |
