The pipe slide (16) has a holding assembly for mounting on a flange (6,7) of a profile carrier (17), with two spaced pairs of clamping pads which have grooves to grip round the flange edge, and a clamping body on the flange surface with a leg at an angle away from the under side of the clamping pad body. The clamping surface of the leg (3), aligned to the clamping pad body (29-32), has a concave curvature against the clamping pad body (29-32) at the free end of the leg (3). The clamping pads (19-22) are metal castings, firings or forgings.
