PURPOSE:To arbitrarily control the ON/OFF operation of a plurality of light- emitting elements by being connected to the comparatively small number of outside parts by a method wherein one arbitrary row of the light-emitting elements arranged in a second direction is turned off by using a second electric signal. CONSTITUTION:Individual gates (first terminals) of light-emitting thyristors S11 to S33 are connected respectively to diodes (unidirectional elements) D11 to D33 for gate isolation use, and are connected respectively to ends on one side of pull-down resistances Rp11 to Rp33. On the other hand, anodes of the diodes D11, D12, D13 for gate isolation use are connected to a gate control line (a first control line) CG1; anodes of the diodes D21, D22, D23 for gate isolation use are connected to a gate control line CG2; anodes of the diodes D31, D32, D33 for gate isolation use are connected to a gate control line CG3. The diodes D11 to D33 for gate isolation use electrically separate the gates of the light- emitting thyristors in an ON state from the gate control lines CG1 to CG3 and eliminate the influence on other light-emitting thyristors. |
