PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten reliability of quantitative evaluation of orientation of a polycrystal material even having a large tilt angleϕ, in consideration of symmetry of a diffraction surface with an orientation density distribution function having proper periodicity. SOLUTION: When a theoretical diffraction X-ray intensity distribution is calculated based on a diffraction surface normal distribution function P by using overlapped orientation density distribution functions to which periodicity is given as the diffraction surface normal distribution function P(ϕ), its rocking curve reflects excellently an actual diffraction phenomenon. When determining a characteristic parameter by fitting the theoretical rocking curve acquired in this way to a measured rocking curve, reliability of quantitative evaluation of orientation of the polycrystal material is improved.
