PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of instantly and certainly aligning the edge of a card and also having a simple edge aligning structure. SOLUTION: This printer includes: a printing means for printing predetermined information on a card medium 2 positioned on a reference face 70 regulating a position in a medium width direction; a conveying roller 9 conveying the card medium 2; a pad roller 25 arranged oppositely to the conveying roller 9 and push-pressing the card medium 2 for holding; a push-pressing canceling mechanism canceling push-pressing by the pad roller 25; and an edge aligning mechanism pressing the card medium 2 to the side of the reference face 70. The push-pressing mechanism includes a pad roller supporting member 71 rotatable around a supporting shaft 76, and a first transmission lever 72. The edge aligning mechanism includes a second transmission lever 77 interlocking with the rotation of the first transmission lever 71 with time difference, and a pressing member 79 interlocking with the second transmission lever 77.
