PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve and display example sentences conforming to words inputted as search terms in retrieving example sentences in an information display control device such as an electronic dictionary. SOLUTION: Words and example sentences including the words are correlated to each other and are stored in a word-example sentence table, and a preliminarily set level of each of the words is also stored in a word level table. A CPU extracts example sentences including a plurality of inputted search word and phrases from example sentences stored in the word-example sentence table. Then, the CPU controls, for each extracted example sentence, displaying each of the extracted example sentences based on the farthest end level indicating the highest or lowest level among the levels of the words included in the extracted example sentences.
