PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear seat back member for an automobile having a center armrest with flexible function and use. SOLUTION: The center armrest 18 for the rear seat back member 13 of the vehicle is constituted by an armrest upper member 23 and an armrest lower member 22 connected to each other by a hinge. The hinges are arranged end surfaces 24, 25 of the center armrest 18. A control mechanism part substantially exists at an inner side of the central hollow armrest. Thereby, when the center armrest 18 is downwardly turned from a non-use position where it functions as a part of the seat back member to an armrest position, thickness of the center armrest is desirably and automatically adjustable.
