<p>The mouth edge (2) of a basket is sandwiched between a plastics frame body (5) and a plastics ring (7) and the plastics frame body (5) and plastics ring (7) are pressed together and welded. The body (5) has sharp-edged protuberances (3) and a groove (4) and the ring (7) has a groove (6). Welding is effected by ultrasonic welding or high frequency dielectric heating and the plastics material flows into the grooves (4), (6).
