Tubular, length-changeable supports which can be fitted in clearances of shuttering slabs of cavity floors and can be filled, via the clearances, with screed which is to be applied on to the shuttering slabs are intended, on the one hand, to be stable, in the non-filled state, under footstep loading and, on the other hand, to be capable of compensating for unevennesses in the unfinished floor on to which the shuttering slabs are laid. For this purpose, the downwardly free end of the supports is provided in each case with a centring collar and an axial stop for the correctly fitting plugging-on of a lengthening sleeve or cap. In each case one deformable region may be provided in the support itself or in the plug-on lengthening sleeve. At least one zone of higher elasticity is arranged within the deformable region. This zone of higher elasticity is stretched out in elongate form in the initial state and can be compressed to a predeterminable minimal longitudinal extent. In this compressed state, which determines the desired distance of the shuttering slab from the unfinished floor, the support can be loaded in an essentially deformation-free manner.
