PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a program being copied by inhibiting the processing action of a device even if the inhibition process part of the program has been deleted. SOLUTION: A trap control interrupt request part 51 of an ASIC 23 outputs interrupt requests at predetermined intervals. A CPU 19 writes an appropriate value matching the number of interrupt requests into a trap release register 52 from a data table 61. When the appropriate value matching the number of interrupt requests is not written in the trap release register 52 and when no value is written in the trap release register 52 within a set period of time since an interrupt request, the printing process of the ASIC 23 is forcibly terminated via an inhibition circuit 55.
