PURPOSE:To make a hard, fragile work grindable in highly accurate and efficient manners, by using a slide table in a ball circulating system or the like as a feed guide in time of forced feed griding but in time of constant pressure buffing, using a journal air bearing for that. CONSTITUTION:A jig 15 fitted with a work 14 is attached to a shaft 16 and performs efficient grinding with forced feed machining by a feed screw 30, a motor 33 and a slide table 25 by constant pressure buffing. Next, the motor 30 is stopped, while the shaft 16 is fed to the side of a grinding wheel 35, making a journal air bearing 22 a guide, by a linear motor 26 via thrust air bearings 23a, 23b and thrust bearing parts 24a-24c, and constant pressure buffing takes place. Then, all the machining job is completed upon checkup with a linear scale 34a and a read head 34b. Thus a hard, fragile work can be ground in highly accurate and efficient manners. |
