PURPOSE: A fabricating method of a square-shaped optical disk is provided to prevent oxidation and deterioration of a reflection layer or a protection layer by forming the protection layer on a cut surface of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of cutting a partial external side of a circular optical disk, forming a protection layer on the cut surface exposed by the cutting, and hardening the protection layer. In the cutting step, the protection layer is formed after removing a part of the reflection layer on the exposed cut surface utilizing a drill having a revolving cutting function or an FeO2 solution. |
