<p>The installation is for processing flowers with heads, stems and possibly leaves and is usable for transporting, bundling, inspection, sorting and/or packing. The processing installation comprises a first feed mechanism (1) provided with a pair of strings (9) and guide wheels (14) for them. The strings run parallel to each other and between them flowers (3a) can be manually fed via an input (2). In the case of gerberas, the flowers are vertically suspended by their stems downwards between the strings and with their buds resting on the strings. A transport unit (4) is provided with pairs of teeth, each with a preceding tooth and a subsequent tooth. The teeth are formed as straight pins parallel to each other in holder components (5). The subsequent teeth are displaceable in their length direction. With a tooth pair (6a), a row of flowers can be passed freely into the feed mechanism. Flowers are fed in via a human operator via the input. A detector (10) and a speed-regulated drive for the strings ensure that a flower to be picked up is secured at a defined time by a subsequent tooth of a tooth pair.</p> |
