The invention relates to safety binding devices for skis which allow the practice of cross country skiing, downhill skiing and also tour skiing while having the shoe heel above the ski. This binding generates a return force and automatically releases the shoe when a pressure force adjustable and orientable as desired is exceeded. The binding is comprised of front parts and rear parts connected to the skis and to the shoes. The front part has a protuberance (5) formed by one or a plurality of components, preferably partially or totally resilient and/or a locking device for pins (3), which device is comprised of an element (6) provided with a spring which presses the pins outwardly and a crank (7'') connected to said element (6). The so called thrust pressure is produced by a lever arm adjacent to the shoe toe, arm which is subjected in the ski direction (Y) to the action of a spring or by a protuberance (5). The pin (3) of the rear part is inclined in the ski axis towards its rear part and has, towards the ski point, two rounded portions forming an extension (3) of the shoe sole. To fix the heel in the downhill position of the binding, there is provided a locking element (20) preferably actuated by a spring, which holds the shoe so that it may trigger upwardly and side ways. The shoe sole with the front and rear portions of the binding is so rigid that it may bend only about a horizontal axis transversal to the ski axis (Y).
