The present invention relates to a drive control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the drive control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle comprises: a vehicle speed calculation unit detecting the driving speed of a vehicle and outputting information on the detected driving speed; a detection unit detecting a gradient of a road where a vehicle travels, and outputting information on the detected gradient; and a mode transition control unit determining the driving speed and driving load of the vehicle in accordance with the gradient and controlling the drive mode of the vehicle in accordance with the size of the driving load. The present invention can improve fuel efficiency.
