A remote terminal with a data backup function and a method thereof are provided. According to the present invention, the remote terminal for transmitting according to a regular request and sector request of a monitoring server includes: a sensor unit which obtains data using at least one sensor; a first storage unit which temporarily stores the data; a second storage unit which stores the data for backup; a data management unit which manages the data to be additionally stored in the second storage unit depending on whether a data request is received within a limited period of time where the limited period is the multiplication of the cycle of the regular request and a time coefficient (N) and N is equal to or greater than two; and a request processing unit which processes the data of either the first storage unit or the second storage unit to be transmitted and sets the limited period of time by calculating the cycle of the regular requests. |
