PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water storage type water heater which has solved the problem in which, when an unfreezable water drain plug is opened, hot water inside a hot water storage tank is drained from an intermediate hot water tapping pipe by a siphon phenomenon.SOLUTION: A hot water storage type water heater includes: an unfreezable water drain plug 28a for preventing freezing by draining residual water in a water supply pipe 2 and a hot water supply pipe 8 by being connected to the water supply pipe 2 and the hot water supply pipe 8 and opened; an outside air temperature sensor 29 for detecting outside air temperature; a remote controller 27 for outputting various settings and a drive instruction; and a control unit 28 for controlling heating means 16, switching means 5 and the like by receiving the output from the remote controller 27. The control unit 28, when the outside air temperature sensor 29 detects a predetermined temperature or less, switches the switching means 5 so as to communicate an upper hot water tapping pipe 3 side and so as to block an intermediate hot water tapping pipe 4 side. Furthermore, by a hot water adding switch 27b and a high temperature hot water supply switch 27c of the remote controller 27 being pressed, the switching means 5 is switched to a state of blocking the upper hot water tapping pipe 3 side and communicating with the intermediate hot water tapping pipe 4 side. |
