A parking management system and a method thereof are provided to display an authentication number when recognition of a car number plate is impossible and perform entrance, charging and payment of the car if a car number including the authentication number is provided through a mobile communication network, thereby implementing manless management of a parking lot. If entry of a car is sensed, an authentication number of the car is requested to a parking management server(400~404). If the authentication number is received from the parking management server, the authentication number is shown(406,408). Entry information including the authentication number, the car number and current time information is provided to the parking management server through a mobile communication network. If the parking management server provides an entry allow message, an opening and shutting switch for entry is opened(410). |
