PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel component in which, even if load is applied not only in the bending direction but also in the shearing, longitudinal, twisting directions and the like, specific strength and comparative rigidity are improved. SOLUTION: The fishing reel component is formed with fiber-reinforced resin produced by impregnating short fibers having a circular cross section with an average diameter of 4-7 μm and an average length of 1.5-4.0 mm in the matrix resin in the range of 30-60 mass%. In the cross section to the longitudinal direction, on the surface side the first layer 10 is formed containing a large proportion of the short fibers having a nearly circular cross section with a short/long axis ratio of 1:1-1:1.155, and on the inner side the second layer 11 is formed containing a large proportion of the short fibers pointing at random as compared with those of the first layer 10.
